The Final Conference of IPA DRAM Programme and the sixth Steering Committee meeting will be held in Brussels on November 19 and 20, 2019.
The Final Conference, on November 19, will gather representatives from the Partner Countries and the Programme Consortium at the Albert Borschette Conference Center, Rue Froissart 36, 1040 Brussels, in the EU Quarter.
The Programme, with a strong commitment on risk understanding and divided into three components – disaster risk assessment, disaster loss data and risk mapping – has been based on strong local ownership, partnership and a national and regional approach. The perspectives of environment, gender and civil society involvement have been mainstreamed throughout the full project cycle. As the Programme is ending, the main aim of the Final Conference is to present the Programme’s achievements and results, to share lessons learned and discuss how the results of the Programme can be carried forward.
Programme results include the implementation of the ERRADRAM platform active at local and regional level, over 100 institutions and stakeholders involved in Disaster Risk Assessment inter-institutional processes, the adoption of the DesInventar-Sendai framework for the collection of Disaster Loss Data, the adoption of a methodology for Disaster Risk Assessment compliant with EU guidelines.
The sixth and final Steering Committee meeting will be held back-to-back in Brussels on November 20, 2019.
Organized with the kind support of DG ECHO, the Steering Committee meeting represents the opportunity to gather IPA DRAM Programme’s National Coordinators based in the Partner Countries, Consortium members, delegates from the European Commission including DG ECHO and key international stakeholders for the purpose of supporting as well as overseeing the overall progress of the Programme.
